License, Referral & Service Disclosures

Burkhart Peterson Insurance Agency, LLC is a licensed insurance agency. This company does not typically charge hourly fees, but earns commissions based on policies sold. If you choose to purchase insurance products through this agency, company principles or other licensed insurance agents may earn insurance commissions ranging from 0% to 110% of the premium cost of said policies (this varies depending on the type of policies). This firm is under common ownership with a separate tax consulting firm operating under the Burkhart Peterson brand, and with Burkhart Peterson, CPAs, PLLC. This firm does not provide tax consulting, CPA, personal financial planning, or investment advisory services; those services are provided by the affiliated entities described above or by separate third-party firms. Any work performed by an affiliated company will be summarized in a separate Engagement Letter from that company. Applicable staff of the Burkhart Peterson family of companies refer clients to investment advisory firms with whom our licensed professionals may be appointed. In those cases, any services to be rendered by an investment advisory firm should be summarized in a separate engagement letter from that separate company. If you choose to receive services from investment advisory firms to whom staff refers you, staff that are licensed investment advisors may benefit by up to 110% of the amounts you pay for those services.

Your insurance commissions and any fee payments are the only compensation that we expect to receive for the work performed for you except as outlined herein. We may refer you to some other professional for assistance with needed services that we can’t or don’t provide. We will consider the professional qualifications of another service provider before referring you to that person. It will always remain your option to decide whether to accept or reject any service provider that we may refer you to. We may receive payment of a commission or referral fee from any other third-party professional as a result of referring you to them. Our referral fee could be as much as 110% of what you pay to them. If we receive a referral fee, you may request to know the amount that we received. Although we’d be available to consult with you or that person on any recommendations or work product they provide, we will not evaluate or assume responsibility for the work performed by any separate service provider.
